John Spencer-Barnes:
I think I want it :-)
Gutted the most it seems most of this fantastic artwork will meet be seen again after Jan.
Thanks to everyone I've met through a love of Gowalla, and to the devs. It's been a blast.
Don Forman:
Yeah, sad day and reality sets in too😞
Simon Wicks:
Indeed. I was so looking forward to next year with Gowalla on my LA-SF trek, had a ton of bookmarks ready to hit for the awesome stamps. Such a shame.
Simon Wicks:
Seeing Jason Manford this evening.
Colin Chorley:
Enjoy.
Simon Wicks:
Good seats!
Simon at London Transport Museum
Had a now couple hours walking round here. Not been before.
Colin Chorley:
Been meaning to make a trip here myself, always on the list but never been.
Lee Nixon:
So is it Strand Station or is it Aldwych Station? And why's it still there?
Simon Wicks:
It was the Strand when it first opened, then renamed Aldwych when another one opened up the road. Was closed because only about 150 people used it a day and the lifts stopped working. The Cost to replace the lifts wast worth it. It's still there for a filming location, and training. :)
Lee Nixon:
Interesting! Great photos by the way.
Colin Chorley:
Is this open all the time or just the odd day here and there? Would love to check this out.
Simon Wicks:
Just a couple of days a year I think. We were a bit rushed around though, didnt get much time to stop, take pics and take it in as they were cramming group after group in. Is about £20 pp and that gets you free entry to the transport museum too.
I use Gowalla to checkin to the office on foursquare from time to time too. Over the tear its built up enough for me to be the mayor. Today Stella hand delivered me a crate of their new cider, an apple and a hand signed picture and note for being the mayor. Amazing!
Simon Wicks:
Over the years..
Simon Wicks:
Plus, what an incredible promotion I had no idea I was partaking in. Genius.
Colin Chorley:
That's very cool. Perhaps I should take 4sq more seriously for standard I'm here checkins.
Simon Wicks:
Was totally out of the blue, I don't really pay attention to it. I was out for lunch when they showed up to hand it over as well, gutted.
Eric Longstaff:
My favorite seasonal 'bucks drink!
Simon Wicks:
Same! And it's Buy one get one free for a couple days between 2-5pm!!
Simon Wicks:
How come? You're missing out if you wait, they don't hang around forever after all! :)
Finding out the future of the company and where our offices are moving too.
Simon Wicks:
We're moving to Farringdon, in April. New offices look very swish.
Lee Nixon:
Where's Farrington?
Simon Wicks:
Still in London, more east than we are now :)
Eric Longstaff:
That guy doesn't look happy that you took his picture
Simon Wicks:
I was waiting for him to turn back round, but he didn't, so I took it anyway :)
Simon and Charley at Hammersmith Apollo
Simon Wicks:
